Councilman, Ward IV, City of Henderson
Dan Stewart was appointed to the Henderson City Council in January 2017, representing Ward IV. Councilman Stewart serves with the mayor and fellow council members as the legislative branch of the Henderson community, responsible for setting policies and making decisions concerning many different aspects of local government. The City Council also approves the city’s budget. Councilman Stewart represents the city on the Las Vegas Global Economic Alliance Coalition, Southern Nevada Regional Planning Coalition, Southern Nevada Health District Board of Health and the Clark County Debt Management Commission. He also serves on the Colorado River Commission of Nevada by gubernatorial appointment. In addition, he serves as chairman of the Nevada State College Foundation.
Before his appointment, Councilman Stewart served by gubernatorial appointment on the State of Nevada Commission on Ethics from 2015-2016. From 2012 to 2015, he served as vice chair of the City of Henderson Planning Commission as well as the District Chairman of the Eldorado District Boy Scouts of America. Stewart has also served on the Southern Nevada Water Authority Integrated Resource Planning and Integrated Water Planning Advisory Committees, the UNLV Engineering Advisory Council and the Henderson Chamber of Commerce Executive Committee.
A fourth-generation Nevada, Councilman Stewart is president and part owner of family-owned Stewart-Nevada Enterprises specializing in real estate, water development and farming in Nevada. He oversees the farming operation on the family ranch in Hiko.
