Vice President of Cox Business and Hospitality Network, Cox Communications

As Vice President of Cox Business (CB) and Hospitality Network (HN) in Las Vegas, Derrick Hill is responsible for creating and leading business strategies that grow the commercial and hospitality business in Southern Nevada. This includes short and long-range strategies that increase commercial revenue, margin contribution, while improving the customer’s experience in areas such as small and medium business services, carrier and wholesale services as well as targeted vertical and enterprise customers.

Hill has broadened and deepened CB/HN relationships within the Southern Nevada business community. This has led to significant partnerships for CB/HN that include, among others, T-Mobile© Arena, Wynn/Encore, UNLV Clark County Schools, McDonald’s and MGM National Harbor With over 20 years of sales and leadership experience, Hill has been recognized for building high performing teams that drive demonstrated revenue, sales & operational execution, and business process optimization. His expertise in the wireless and telecommunications industries has been earned through management roles at leading companies such as Ameritech, Nortel Network, Xerox and AT&T. He is an inspirational leader and dynamic presenter capable of discussing both business and social issues. Guest lectures include “Leadership & Ethics in Business” at Bowling Green State University as well “Building and Developing Effective Teams” at the African-American Leadership Conference in Omaha. Hill has also offered the keynote address at an Urban League of Nebraska’s Equal Opportunity Day Annual Luncheon. Hill as served as a guest panelist, Cox Woman’s Employee Resource Group, and a Guest Panelist, Grant Thornton Black History Month.

A graduate of Governors State University with a bachelor’s degree in Health Administration, Hill received his masters of management from the Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University. He most recently completed the National Association of Multi-Ethnicity in Communications (NAMIC) Executive Leadership Development Program at the University of Virginia, Darden School of Business and the Cable Executive Management Program at Harvard Business School. Hill is active in the Southern Nevada community and serves on the Cox National Council and the Executive Sponsor of Southwest Region Council for Diversity & Inclusion. He serves as the Vice Chairmen and Secretary of Las Vegas Global Economic Alliance and is a member of the Las Vegas Bowl Committee.
