Vice President, Barrick
Patrick Malone is an ESG executive focused on sustainable mining. He has more than twenty years of experience in managing complex development projects, including permitting mines on federal lands, the remediation and redevelopment of contaminated properties, development and execution of air, water, and species conservation strategies, and large value mergers, acquisitions, and other commercial transactions. Patrick holds degrees in biology and law. He practiced environmental law at large law firms for ten years before joining Barrick in 2010.
Patrick is responsible for overseeing Barrick’s reclamation and closure activities across the globe as well as leading Barrick’s Henderson, Nevada office. He is charged with assuring that Barrick’s closed mines are managed in an environmentally and financially responsible manner, as well as finding creative ways to return these lands to productive use.
Patrick is a passionate believer in, and advocate for, stakeholder capitalism. He firmly believes that “growing the pie” is the best way to meet societal goals and expectations.
