Ray Specht is a profit-focused executive with 40+ years of experience creating and developing exceptional customer-focused organizations, as well as turning around underperforming entities. During his career he has served as President and CEO for three start-up banks, including Toyota Financial Bank, Volkswagen Bank USA, and Wright Express Financial Services, a subsidiary of Cendant. Most recently he created the government affairs function for Toyota Financial Services, providing strategic guidance on federal and state legislation and other issues related to the banking industry. In addition to a strong financial acumen, Ray offers expertise in developing business start-ups, designing organizational infrastructures, and building high-performing teams.
Ray obtained his M.A. in Strategic Communications and Leadership with high honors from Seton Hall University in South Orange, New Jersey, and graduated magna cum laude from the University of Massachusetts, Lowell, with a B.S. in Accounting. He has served on the boards of numerous professional associations including the Nevada Bankers Association and the Conference of State Bank Supervisors, and was the founding president of the National Association of Industrial Bankers. Ray’s commitment to service-oriented leadership is evidenced by his extensive involvement with a variety of community non-profit organizations. With a passion for education, he is a part-time professor in Nevada State College’s Management program and helped create a mentoring program pairing senior business executives with education leaders for the Clark County School District. Ray resides in Las Vegas with his wife, children and grandchildren.
