Mayor, City of Boulder City
Mayor Rod Woodbury was first elected to the Boulder City Council in June 2011, and was elected as Mayor after the Close of Filing in 2015. He was sworn in as Mayor on June 23, 2015. Mayor Woodbury is a native of Southern Nevada and has lived in Boulder City since he was 11 years old. He and his wife, Leslie, have seven children. Woodbury is a small business owner as Presiden and managing shareholder of his law firm, Woodbury Law. He has been active as a youth sports coach and a leader for local Boy Scout Troop 213.
Mayor Woodbury comes from a family tradition of public service in Southern Nevada, dating back to the 950s when his great-uncle Dr. Clare Woodbury served on the Clark County School Board. Mayor Woodbury’s father, Bruce Woodbury, was a Clark County Commissioner for 28 years, and his sister Melissa Woodbury currently serves as a State Assemblywoman in the Nevada Legislature. Mayor Woodbury currently serves as the City Council representative to the Southern Nevada Health District Board, Civilian Military Council Executive Board, Regional Transportation Board, and Clark County Regional Flood District Board.
